What are Antibiotics?

Antibiotics are medicines that treat bacterial infections. They either kill bacteria or stop them from copying or reproducing. Antibiotics do not work on viruses or viral flu. They can treat infections like ear and sinus infections, dental infections, skin infections, Meningitis, strep throat, bladder and kidney infections, bacterial pneumonias, whooping cough, etc.
