We know that,

$(+) \times (+) = (+)$

$(-) \times (+) = (-)$

$(+) \times (-) = (-)$

$|a| = a$ if $a>0$ and $-a$ if $a<0$.

$5-|-11|-|-6|$

$|-11| = -(-11) = 11$ and $|-6| = -(-6) = 6$

Therefore,

$5-|-11|-|-6| = 5-11-6 $

$= 5-(11+6) $

$= 5-17$

$= -(17-5) $

$= -12$.

The value of $5 - |-11| - |-6|$ is $-12$.
