Distributive property of multiplication over subtraction:

$a\times(b-c) = a\times b-a\times c$

$ 1008\times99 = 1008 \times (100-1)$

                  $=1008\times100-1008\times1$

                  $= 100800-1008$

                  $= 99792$.

$1008\times99 = 99792$
