Should we boil the pasteurized milk once again after bringing it home?
Usually, fresh milk is boiled before consumption to kill the microorganisms present in it. This process is known as pasteurization.
In India, it is the traditional way to boil fresh dairy milk as it is raw and directly comes from cows. Pasteurization is done at high temperatures to increase the shelf life of milk. If the milk is boiled further, it lessened the shelf life of milk.
Packed milk, coming from the dairy industry is already pasteurized therefore it is not required to boil the milk further. Also, the packaged milk is fortified (added) with vitamins and nutritional value. Boil the pasteurized milk can diminish the nutritive value of pasteurized milk.
