Light shows the phenomena of reflection, refraction and ___________.
Light shows the phenomena of reflection, refraction and dispersion.
Explanation
Reflection - It is the process of sending back light rays that fall on the surface of an object is called reflection of light.
Refraction - It is the process of bending of light, when light travels from one medium to another medium. The bending of light is caused due to the differences between the densities of the two mediums.
Dispersion - This process of white light splitting into its constituent colours is called dispersion.
It is the result of refraction, which occurs when white light is passed through a glass prism, and it splits the light into its spectrum of colours (violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red). This happens because different colours of light refract (bend) differently in the prism medium, so they get separated.
