If the point $(3,4)$ lies on the graph of the equation $3y = ax + 7$ , Find the value of a.
Given:
The point $(3, 4)$ lies on the graph of the equation $3y=ax+7$.
To do:
We have to find the value of $a$.
Solution:
According to the question,
$(x, y)=(3, 4)$
Now, by substituting $(x, y)=(3, 4)$ in the equation
We get,
$3(4)=a(3)+7$
This implies,
$12=3a+7$
$12-7=3a$
$5=3a$
$3a=5$
$a=\frac{5}{3}$
Therefore,
The value of $a$ is $\frac{5}{3}$.
