Explain parasite and saprotrophs.
The parasite is an organism that lives on or in another organism (called the host), using it as a source of food and a place of temporary or permanent residence.
Parasites are organisms that depend upon another organism or host for food and cause harm or diseases to the host. Examples: Cuscuta (Amarbel), mosquitoes, and head lice.
Saprophyte is an organism that feeds on a decomposing matter from dead organisms. Saprophytes feed with decaying organic matter from dead organisms.
Saprotrophs are organisms that obtain nutrition from dead and decaying organic matter. Examples: Fungi and some bacteria.
