Do our nails even have cells?
Yes, Nails are produced by living skin cells in the finger. Nails are made up of keratin, which is a type of protein (also in skin and hair) forms the cells that make up the tissue in nails and other parts of your body. As new cells grow in the matrix, the older cells are pushed out through the skin, which is a hardened form of the fingernail, consisting of dead cells. That's why it doesn't hurt when we cut our nails.
