(a) Cutting is a method of vegetative propagation of plants. It is a means of asexual reproduction.

(b) While cutting a stem from the parent plant proper care should be taken, to ensure that at least a few buds are present on the part that we want to plant.

(c) In the cutting method, a part of a plant, specifically a stem comprising buds on it is cut from the plant using a sharp knife. This stem is then buried in a suitable medium. After some days, the new plant is formed from the adventitious roots developing from the cutting.



(d) Sugarcane and Rose are propagated by the cutting method.
