A submarine left the surface of the water at the rate of $-6$ feet per second. At that rate, how long would it take the submarine to reach $-180$ feet level?
Given: A submarine left the surface of the water at the rate of $-6$ feet per second.
To do: To find the time taken by submarine to reach $-180$ feet.
Solution:
Here, $-6$ feet means $6$ feet downward.
As given, time taken to reach $6$ feet downward$=1$ second
Time taken to reach $1$ feet downward$=\frac{1}{6}$ second
Time taken to reach $180$ feet downward$=\frac{1}{6}\times180=30$ second
Thus, the submarine will take $30$ second to reach $-180$ feet level.
