A body at rest opposes the force which tries to move it. Name this property and give two examples to illustrate it.

A body at rest opposes the force which tries to move it. It is due to the inertia of rest which is the internal property of the body and due to inertia of rest, the body tends to be at rest.

Here are the two examples of the inertia of the rest:

1. When we shake a wet cloth, the water drops are out of the clothes.

2. When a branch of a tree is shaken, some leaves fall due to the inertia of the rest.
