Find the energy in kW h consumed in $10\ hours$ by four devices of power $500\ W$ each.
Given: Four devices of power $500\ W$ each.
To do: To find the energy in kW h consumed in $10\ hours$ by four devices.
Solution:
Number of devices $=4$
Power of each device $P=500\ W$
Total power of the four devices $=4P=4\times500=2000\ W$
Time taken to consume energy $t=10\ hr=10\times60\times60=36000\ sec.$
We know , $Power=\frac{Total\ energy}{time}$
Or $2000=\frac{Total\ energy\ consumed}{36000}$
Or $Total\ energy\ consumed=2000\times36000$
Or $Total\ energy\ consumed=62\times10^6\ Joule$
Or $Total\ energy\ consumed=6.2\times10^7\ Joule$
