An electric iron of 500 w power is used for 10 hours. The electrical energy consumed is ___________________ kWhÂ
Given,
Power, P = 500 W
Time, T = 10 h
Energy, E = ?
Solution-
We know that,
$E=P\times \frac{t}{1000}$
where E = energy in kilowatt-hours(kWh), P = power in Watts (W), t = time in hours (h)
Substituting the given values in the formula, we get-
$E=500\times \frac{10}{1000}$
$E=5kWh$
Thus, the electrical energy consumed by 500W electric iron in 10hour is 5kWh.
