Difference between Google Drive and Box
Google Drive is a file hosting service provided by google launched April 24, 2012. Google Drive, which was launched on April 24, 2012, allows users to store files in the cloud, sync files across devices, and share files. In addition to a web interface, Google Drive has apps for most devices that can be used offline.
Google Drive doesn’t only help you save files, though. It serves as a central location for all of your Google activities. Google's whole ecosystem of products, including its G Suite of office apps, is compatible with Drive.
So, chances are most of the people on the internet already have a google drive account as it is initiated even with apps such as YouTube.
Google Drive provides users with 15GB of free storage that can be expanded up to 30TB upon payment. Data stored on Drive is encrypted in 128-bit AES along with a multi-factor authentication feature.
There is a maximum file size depending on whether it is a spreadsheet, presentation, or other types of files and also have some limitations in storing the versioning history feature.
Box, Inc. is a cloud content management and file-sharing service provider founded in 2005 in the United States.". The Box is software mostly used by businesses.
Almost 99% of all Box users are employees from Fortune 500 companies. As a result, file sharing, collaboration, and other methods for working with files uploaded to Box's servers are available to customers. In addition, users have control over how their content is shared with others.
Box offers three types of accounts: Enterprise, Business, and Personal, and is supported in almost all platforms, including Windows, Mac, IOs, and Android. Box's enterprise includes companies like IBM, Schneider Electric, and The Procter & Gamble Company.
Box creates a folder on your Windows or macOS computer and then syncs all of its data with the cloud, as well as any other Box-enabled devices. Box offers a basic free tier that includes 10GB of storage and a 250MB file upload limit.
However, it can be upgraded to unlimited storage with a max file size of 32 GB for premium plans. You may also use the free version to share files and folders and integrate with Office 365 and G Suite. Data is encrypted using high-strength TLS 1.2 encryption and a 256-bit AES encryption, which is further protected by an encryption key-wrapping strategy that also utilizes 256-bit AES encryption.
