1 - Missile Park 'Agneeprastha' to be set up at INS Kalinga

The foundation stone for a Missile Park "AGNEEPRASTHA" was laid at INS Kalinga. The Missile Park ‘AGNEEPRASTHA’ commemorates the award of the prestigious Unit Citation to INS Kalinga for the year 2018-19.

‘AGNEEPRASTHA’ aims to capture glimpses of Missile History of INS Kalinga since 1981 till date. The Missile Park has been set up with a replica of missiles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) that showcase the evolution of missiles handled by the unit.

2 - DRDO developed “Ultra Swachh” for disinfection of PPEs, electronic items, fabrics

Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed a disinfection unit named “Ultra Swachh” to disinfect a wide range of materials, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), electronics items, fabrics and others. Ultra Swachh is double-layered, with specialized Ozone sealant technology assuring trapping of Ozone for the necessary disinfection cycle

The device also has catalytic converter to ensure environment friendly exhaust. Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, the Delhi-based laboratory of DRDO has developed this product with industry partner Gel Craft Health care Private Ltd.

3 - DRDO developed SUMERU PACS

DRDO has developed a device called” SUMERU-PACS” that helps wearers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) comfortable without sweating. Prior to this, health care workers felt uncomfortable after wearing PPE for more than 30 to 45 minutes and start to sweating which makes the situation worse

SUMERU-PACS have personal air circulation system which can be used inside the PPE as a small backpack of approximately 500 grams weight which works well at an ambient temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. The device draws the outside air with the help of a filter and the moist air goes out from the front face opening.

4 - 'Kesari' reached Seychelles under 'Mission Sagar'

As part of Mission Sagar, Indian Naval Ship Kesari reached Port Victoria in Seychelles for handing over COVID related essential medicines. Under Mission Sagar, Indian government is providing assistance to friendly foreign countries in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mission SAGAR, resonates Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Security and Growth for All in the region. The operation is being progressed in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and other agencies of the Government.

5 - IAF developed rescue pod “ARPIT” for evacuation

Indian Air Force has indigenously designed, developed and manufactured an Airborne Rescue Pod for Isolated Transportation (ARPIT). The pod is meant for the evacuation of critical patients with infectious diseases including COVID-19 from high altitude area, isolated and remote places.

The system developed at a cost of Rs 60,000, has been formed as a lightweight isolation system made from aviation certified material. It generates high constant negative pressure in the isolation chamber for prevention of infection risk to air crew, ground crew and health care workers involved in air transportation.

6 - GRSE delivered ICGS Kanaklata Barua to ICG

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) delivered ICGS Kanaklata Barua, the fifth and last boat in the series of Fast Patrol Vessels (FPV) for the Indian Coast Guard. GRSE, is one of India's leading shipyards that builds commercial and naval vessels.

GRSE had earlier made deliveries of FPVs ICGS Priyadarshini, ICGS Annie Besant and ICGS Amrit Kaur in this series to the Indian Coast Guard. ICGS KanaklataBarua is the 105th vessel conveyed by the Defense PSU shipyard dependent on the banks of stream Hooghly.

7 - Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) complex inaugurated in Vizag

The Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) Complex was inaugurated at Visakhapatnam by Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain. It has been designed to accommodate the newly inducted submarine rescue system and store the DSRV assets in the rescue-ready state. The Indian Navy has inducted two such systems which will provide rescue cover to submarines.

The DSRV system consists of a Submarine Rescue Vessel, a Remote Operations Vehicle, Side Scan Sonar and associated equipment. It also has Diver Decompression Chambers and hyperbaric medical equipment to decompress submariners after being rescued from a sunken submarine.

8 - Indian Navy inducts indigenously developed Torpedo Decoy System Maareech

The Indian Navy has inducted an advanced anti-torpedo decoy system called ‘Maareech’ that is capable of being fired from all frontline ships. Maareech Advanced Torpedo Defence System (ATDS) offers a complete solution to detect and locate an incoming torpedo and to apply countermeasures to protect naval platform against torpedo attack.

The design and development of the Maareech anti-torpedo decoy system was undertaken indigenously by the Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL) and the Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL) of DRDO. Bharat Electronics Limited, a defence PSU, would undertake the production of this decoy system.
