What planning is required in advance to deal with the situation created by a cyclone?
In a cyclone the speed of wind range from $60\ km-250\ km$. These winds can tear down even large strong buildings. So, to overcome the damage caused by cyclones planning may be required to deal in advance with the situation created by a cyclone:
- First of all, people should move to other safe places.
- If possible they can take food with them.
- They need to keep their valuables in a strong area.
- If they have children, they should keep an eye on them at all times.
- They must have emergency health care numbers with them always.
- An emergency kit should be kept ready.
- Forecast facilities like TV and radio can give cyclone warnings in advance.
- Instant information and communication devices to enable rapid dissemination of information.
By following the above activities, damage can be lowered.
