What is cyclone?

Cyclone is a huge system of air mass in which winds rotate inwardly to low atmospheric pressure.  For large cyclones, the wind pattern is in anti-clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere and a clockwise direction in the southern hemisphere.

There are two types of cyclones.

1) Mid-latitude cyclones

These cyclones are the main cause of winter storms in middle latitudes.

2) Tropical cyclones

These are very strong. These are also called hurricanes.
