What is meant by Cumulative frequency?

Solution:

The total of a frequency and all frequencies so far in a frequency distribution. It is the 'running total' of frequencies.

If the frequency of the first class interval is added to the frequency of second class interval and this sum is added to the frequency of the third class interval and so on, the frequencies so obtained are called cumulative frequencies.

There are two types of cumulative frequencies

a) less than cumulative frequencies

b) greater than cumulative frequencies

The table or distribution that contains cumulative frequencies is called as cumulative frequency distribution or table.
