Petrochemicals can be defined as a large group of chemicals derived from natural gas and petroleum by refining and used for a variety of commercial purposes. 99% of all plastics are created from oil and natural gas.

Common examples of petrochemical are wax, synthetic, detergent, food-additives, dyes, plastic bottles, etc.

Some uses of petrochemicals are:

1. Used in the paper, consumer electronics, detergents, footwear, and adhesives.

2. Used in paints, furniture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and food packaging.

3. Creates pharmaceuticals, furniture, electronics, and food packaging.

4. Used in thermal insulation and building construction.

5. Creates inks and sports equipment.
