Find the average temperature for these five days.
Given: Temperature of Srinagar for five days.
To find: Here we have to find the average temperature for these five days.
Solution:
We know that:
$Average\ =\ \frac{Sum\ of\ all\ observations}{Number\ of\ observations}$
Now,
Sum of all temperatures = $(-4) + 3 + 0 + (-6) + 2$
Sum of all temperatures = $-5$
Number of days = 5
So,
$Average\ temperature\ =\ \frac{Sum\ of\ all\ temperatures}{Number\ of\ days}$
$Average\ temperature\ =\ \frac{-\ 5}{5}$
$\mathbf{Average\ temperature\ =\ -\ 1\ ^{o} C}$
So, the average temperature for these five days in Srinagar is $- 1$ oC.
