Rahul travelled 1973 Km to go from place A to B and then he went to place C after travelling 1687 Km. Estimate the distance between A to C to the nearest thousands.
Given,
Rahul travelled 1973 Km to go from place A to B and then he went to place C after travelling 1687 Km.
The distance travelled between A and B when rounded off to nearest thousands is,
1973 rounded off to nearest thousand = 2000 (Since Hundreds digit is 9)
Similarly,
The distance travelled between B and C when rounded off to nearest thousands is,
1687 rounded off to nearest thousand = 2000 (Since Hundreds digit is 6)
Therefore,
The distance between A and C when rounded off to nearest thousands = 2000+2000= 4000 km.
