How to convert cm to m and km?

Conversion 'cm' to 'm' and 'km':

We know that,

$1 km = 1000 m$ and $1 m = 100 cm$

$\frac{1}{a^m}= a^{-m}$

$1 km = 10^3m$

This implies,

$1 m = \frac{1}{10^3} km = 10^{-3} km$

Similarly,

$1 m = 100 cm$

$1 m = 10^2cm$

$1 cm = \frac{1}{10^2}m = 10^{-2} m$

Therefore,

$1 km =  10^3m =  10^3 (10^2cm) = 10^{3+2} cm = 10^5 cm$

$1 cm = \frac{1}{10^5} km = 10^{-5} km$.
