How many bricks will be required to construct a wall 8 m long 6 m high and 22.5 cm thick if each brick measure 25 cm 11.25 cm and 6 cm?
Given:
The dimensions of the wall are 8 m long 6 m high and 22.5 cm thick.
The dimensions of the bricks are 25 cm 11.25 cm and 6 cm.
To do:
We have to find the number of bricks required to construct the wall.
Solution:
We know that,
$1\ m=100\ cm$
This implies,
$8\ m=8\times100\ cm=800\ cm$
$6\ m=6\times100\ cm=600\ cm$
Number of bricks required to construct the wall$=$Volume of the wall $\div$ Volume of a brick
$=\frac{800\times600\times22.5}{25\times11.25\times6}$
$=\frac{32\times100\times2}{1\times1\times1}$
$=6400$
Therefore, 6400 bricks are required to construct the wall.
