How much water should be added to 50g of glucose, so as to obtain a 12% glucose solution?
Given,
Mass of the solute = 50g
Concentration of the glucose = (mass of solute/ mass of solution) x 100
12% glucose solution = 50/mass of solution x 100
Mass of solution = 416.67g.
Also, the mass of solution = mass of solute + mass of solvent,
Hence, Mass of solvent = mass of solution – mass of solute = 416.67 - 50g = 366.67g.
