Given: A hexagon.
To do: To find the number of diagonals in a hexagon and to verify by drawing an sketch.
Solution:
The number of diagonals in a polygon of $n-$sides$=\frac{n( n-3)}{2}$
In a hexagon, number of sides $n=6$
Therefore, number of diagponals in a hexagon $=\frac{6( 6-3)}{2}=9$
Thus, there are $9$ diagonals in a hexagon.
