Factorise the following by taking out common factors.$2x^3(a+b) - 2y^2(a+b)$
Given:
$2x^3(a+b)-2y^3(a+b)$
To do:
We have to factorise the given expression.
Solution:
$2x^3(a+b)-2y^3(a+b)=(a+b)[2x^3-2y^3]$ (Taking $(a+b)$ common)
$=(a+b)2(x^3-y^3)$ (Taking $2$ common)
$=2(a+b)(x^3-y^3)$
Therefore, $2x^3(a+b)-2y^3(a+b)=2(a+b)(x^3-y^3)$.
