(a) What is meant by the term ‘acceleration’ ? State the SI unit of acceleration.
(b) Define the term ‘uniform acceleration’. Give one example of a uniformly accelerated motion.

(a) Acceleration is termed as the rate of the change of velocity with time. it is denoted by $a$ and its SI unit is $m/s^2$ or $ms^{-2}$.

If a body is moving with initial velocity $u$ and in time $t$, its velocity becomes $v$

Then, acceleration $=\frac{v-u}{t}$

(b) Uniform acceleration is the constant rate of change of velocity with the time of a moving body. A freely falling body is a good example of uniform accelerated motion.
