HTML - DOM Style Object pageBreakBefore Property



HTML DOM Style Object pageBreakBefore property sets or returns the page break behavior before an element during print or print preview.

Syntax

Set the pageBreakBefore property:
object.style.pageBreakBefore= "auto | always | avoid | emptystring | left | right | initial | inherit";
Get the pageBreakBefore property:
object.style.pageBreakBefore;

Property Values

Value Description
auto It is the default value which inserts a page break before the element if required.
always It always inserts page break before the element.
avoid It avoids the page break before the element.
emptystring It does not insert page break before the element.
left It inserts one or two page breaks before the element, so that the next page is to be considered as left page.
right It inserts one or two page breaks before the element, so that the next page is to be considered as right page.
initial It is used to set this property to it's default value.
inherit It is used to inherit the property of it's parent element.

Return Value

It returns a string value which represents page break behavior before an element while printing.
