News 1 - Ravi Shastri resigns from his ICC post
Former India captain and Team Director Ravi Shastri has resigned from his post as a media representative in ICC's Prestigious Cricket Committee. The official reason is his busy media commitments as Commentator, TV Expert and Columnist.
The Chairman of The ICC Cricket Committee is Anil Kumble. Kumble was selected as the coach of the Indian National Cricket Team and pipped Shastri to the job after getting a nod from the high profile Cricket Advisory Committee.
News 2 - Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla and Minister of State for Heavy Industries G M Siddeswara resigned from the Modi Cabinet
Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla and Minister of State for Heavy Industries G M Siddeshwara resigned from the Union Cabinet. It has been done on the basis of age factor. Prime Minister has set an age restriction of 75 years for ministers and had kept experienced leaders like L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi as supervisors in 'Margdarshak Mandal'.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has been given the independent charge of Ministry of Minority Affairs. Babul Supriyo has been assigned the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
News 3 - BJP leader Navjot Singh Siddhu resigned from the Rajya Sabha
BJP leader Navjot Singh Siddhu has resigned from the Rajya Sabha. He was nominated to the Upper House in April 2015. Deputy Chairman P J Kurien announced in the House that his resignation has been accepted.
Siddhu’s resignation came amid speculation that the cricketer turned politician may join Aam Aadmi Party in view of the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab.
News 4 - Chairman and CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, resigned
Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, and Chairman of Fox Television Stations, has resigned from his role effective immediately. Rupert Murdoch will assume the role of Chairman and acting CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.
However, Ailes will continue to serve as an informal adviser to Rupert Murdoch and will receive a severance package of about 40 million US dollars.
News 5 - Ricoh India’s Chairman and Director Tetsuya Takano resigned
Ricoh India's Chairman and Director, Tetsuya Takano, has resigned from the company. His resignation has come at the wake of Ricoh India having accepted that its accounts appear to have been “falsified” and estimated to incur a loss of Rs. 1,123 crores for the fiscal that ended on March 31, 2016.
The company has appointed Ian Peter Winham as its Director and Chairman with immediate effect. Winham joined the Ricoh Group in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in 2002 as a CFO. Winham has worked extensively in India over the last six years.
News 6 - Ericsson's Hans Vestberg steps down as the CEO
Ericsson's Chief Executive Officer, Hans Vestberg, has stepped down from the position of the President and CEO and the member of the Board of Directors of Ericsson with immediate effect. Vestberg has been CEO since 2010 and came under fire in recent months, with Swedish media questioning his leadership and pay.
Executive Vice President and CFO, Jan Frykhammar, will be CEO until a replacement is found. Carl Mellander, who is currently the VP & Group Treasurer, is appointed as the acting CFO with immediate effect.
News 7 - Sunil Kant Munjal to step down from the Hero MotoCorp Board
Sunil Kant Munjal, who is the Joint Managing Director at the Hero MotoCorp and Chairman of the Hero Corporate Services will step down from his position on August 16th 2016. He intends to focus on independent and core business and will pursue new business interests. He will lead the Hero Group’s ventures in defence, power as focus turns towards diversification.
Sunil Kant Munjal is the youngest son of Brijmohan Lall Munjal. Pawan Munjal, his brother, is the Chairman of the company.
News 8 - Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board, T Nanda Kumar resigned
Chairman of the Gujarat based National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), T. Nanda Kumar, has resigned. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has accepted his resignation with effect from August 1, 2016. He will also cease to be the Chairman of the NDDB promoted companies and institutions, including Mother Dairy Fruit and Vegetable Private Ltd, Indian Immunologicals Ltd, IDMC Ltd and Institute of Rural Management, Anand.
Mr. Kumar is a former IAS officer and has been working as NDDB chief since March 3, 2014. He is the third chairman of the board based in Anand, Gujarat, after V. Kurien and Amrita Patel.
News 9 - Captain of the German Football team, Bastian Schweinsteiger, announced retirement
Germany’s Football Team Captain Bastian Schweinsteiger has announced his retirement from international football. He has featured for Germany at the European Championships in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 as well as the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups. He retires as Germany's fourth most capped player of all time on 120 – behind Lothar Matthaus (150), Miroslav Klose (137) and Lukas Podolski (129).
He was a part of the 2014 World Cup winning side.
News 10 - Nepal Prime Minister K P Oli resigns ahead of a no-confidence vote
Nepalese Prime Minister K P Oli tendered his resignation after two key ruling alliance partners – Madhesi People's Rights ForumDemocratic and Rastriya Prajatantra Party decided to support the no-confidence motion tabled against him by the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-Maoist Centre led by Prachanda.
Addressing the Parliament on the noconfidence motion, Oli called the change in the Government at this time as mysterious and said, he was punished for doing good work.
News 11 - Microsoft Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner Resigns
Kevin Turner resigned from the post of the Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft, to join Citadel Securities as its CEO and Vice Chairman. He served for 11 years in Microsoft where his leadership and working tactics resulted in yielding more than $90 Billion in revenues for Microsoft in 2015.
Prior to Microsoft, Turner worked with Walmart for 20 years and was named Walmart's Chief Information Officer and later President and CEO of Sam's Club.
News 12 - Phiroz Vandrevala resigns as the Director from IT firm Tata Consultancy Services
Phiroz Vandrevala resigned from the post of the Non-Executive Director of the IT Services firm Tata Consultancy Services due to personal reasons. However, Vandrevala will continue as the Vice-Chairman and MD of Diligenta, a TCS subsidiary. He served for 25 years in TCS.
At Diligenta, he has been handling operations of the Organisation and opportunities worldwide. His innovative business strategies and techno-savvy tactics has helped in expanding business.
