We have to write the given terms in standard form and place commas in both the Indian and International place value systems.
Solution :
As per Indian system of numeration, the first comma is placed after the hundreds place. Commas are then placed after every two digits.
As per the International numeration system, the first comma is placed after the hundreds place. Commas are then placed after every three digits.
Therefore,
a. $400000+50000+7000+500+60+1 = 457561$
457561 in the Indian system of numeration is 4,57,561.
457561 in the International system of numeration is 457,561.
b. $600000+70000+9000+3 = 679003$.
679003 in the Indian system of numeration is 6,79,003.
679003 in the International system of numeration is 679,003.
