What type of substance can pass through the cell?

Dear Anisha,The substancs that can pass through a cell are given below:

  • The Cell membrane allows small, uncharged substances such as oxygen and carbon dioxide, and hydrophobic molecules such as lipids, to pass through the cell membrane by simple diffusion or by Osmosis.
  • Certain Carrier proteins are responsible for the diffusion of sugars, amino acids, and nucleosides. They are also the proteins that take up glucose molecules and transport them and other molecules (e.g. salts, amino acids, etc.) inside the cell.
