What is the Meaning Of Commutative?

Commutative  means "involving exchange or replacement"

In mathematics we deal with many operators like +, -, x etc. Some of the operations satisfy this property called Commutative property.

we know 3 + 5 = 5 + 3

but 3 - 5 is not equal to 5 - 3

This is because 'plus' operator(addition) satisfies Commutative property but 'minus' operator(subtraction) does not satisfy.

similarly 2 x 3 = 3 x 2

so 'multiplication' also satisfies this property

The commutative property states if the position of numbers is interchanged for addition or multiplication operation, the answer remains the same.

So, any operation satisfies Commutative property, when interchanging the operands does not change the result
