What is Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation?
Newton's law of universal gravitation. Newton's law of gravitation, states that every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particle in the universe with a force varying directly as the product of their masses and inversely as the square of the distance between the particles.
$F = \frac{Gm_{1}m_{2}}{r^2}$
where m1 and m2 are masses of the particles and r is the distance between them and G is universal Gravitation constant
The weight of a body of mass m is given by F = mg where g is said to be the acceleration due to gravity.
Its (g) value is $9.8 m/s^2$ on Earth. That is to say, the acceleration of gravity on the surface of the earth at sea level is $9.8 m/s^2$. When discussing the acceleration of gravity, it was mentioned that the value of g is dependent upon location. There are slight variations in the value of g about the earth's surface.
