Solve the following expression

$(-21) \times [(-4) + (-6)] = [(-21) \times (-4) + (-21) \times (-6)]$

Given: $(-21) \times  [(-4) + (-6)]  =  [(-21) \times (-4) + (-21) \times (-6)]$

To find: Solve the expression.

Solution:

a (b + c)  =  a b + a c

L H S :

$ (-21) \times  [(-4) + (-6)]  =  (-21) \times  [-4-6]$

                                   =  $(-21) \times  (-10)$

 $(-21) \times  [(-4) + (-6)]  = 210$

 R H S :

 $[(-21) \times  (-4) + (-21) \times  (-6)]  =  -21 \times  -4  + -21 \times  -6$

$-21 \times  -4  =  84   ;  -21 \times  -6  =  126$

$ [(-21) \times  (-4) + (-21) \times  (-6)] = 84 + 126$

 $[(-21) \times  (-4) + (-21) \times  (-6)] = 210$

Therfore,  L H S = R H S

$(-21) \times  [(-4) + (-6)]  =  [(-21) \times  (-4) + (-21) \times  (-6)]$
