Find the sum by suitable rearrangement.a. $837+208+363$b. $1962+453+1538+647$

Given :

The given expressions are,

a. $837+208+363$

b. $1962+453+1538+647$.

To do :

We have to find the sum of the given expressions b suitable rearrangement.

Solution :

a. $837+208+363$

We have to rearrange the numbers in such a way that when we add two numbers the units digit should be 0.

Therefore,

$837+208+363 = 837 + 363 +208$      (As we can see sum of the units digit of 837 and 363 gives 0)

                           $= 1200 + 208$              $(837+363 = 1200)$

                           $= 1408$

Therefore, the sum of $837+208+363$ is 1408.

b. $1962+453+1538+647$

 $1962+453+1538+647 = 1962+1538+453+647$                 $(2+8 = 10 and 3+7 = 10)$

                                              $= 3500 + 1100$

                                              $= 4600$.

Therefore, the sum of $1962+453+1538+647$ is 4600.
