Define Root.

The roots are the organs of a plant that develops, typically, from the radicle and grow typically below the surface of the soil.

Roots can also be aerial or aerating, that is, growing up above the ground or especially above water which is commonly seen in mangrove forests that grow along saltwater coastlines.

Roots mainly absorb water and minerals and transport them to stems. They support a plant to stand straight by holding it tight with the soil and also stores food.
