A box contains 2,00,000 medicine tablets each weighing 20 mg. What is the total weight of all the tablets in the box in grams and in kilograms?

Given: A box contains 2,00,000 medicine tablets each weighing 20 mg

To find: What is the total weight of all the tablets in the box in grams and in kilograms

Solution:

Tablets in box  =  200000

Weight of one tablet  =  20 mg

Total weight of tablets  =  Tablets in box  $\times$  Weight of one tablet

                                            =  200000  $\times$   20

Total weight of tablets   =  4000000 mg

1  mg  =  $\frac{1}{1000}$ g

4000000 mg  =  $\frac{4000000}{1000}$  =  4000 g

Total weight of tablets in grams  =  4000 g

1 mg  =  $\frac{1}{1000000}$ kg

4000000 mg  =  $\frac{4000000}{1000000 }$= 4 kg

Total weight of tablets in kilograms  =  4 kg
