Multimedia is an interactive media and provides multiple ways to represent information to the user in a powerful manner. This tutorial gives a complete understanding on Multimedia starting from basic overview till its advanced imaging/audio/video coding technologies.

Audience

This reference has been prepared for the students pursing either Bachelor or Master in Computer Science (B.C.A, M.C.A, B. Tech, B.E, M.Tech etc.) to help them understand the basic to advanced concepts related to Multimedia.

Prerequisites

Before you start proceeding with this tutorial, I'm making an assumption that you are already aware about basic computer concepts like what is keyboard, mouse, monitor, input, output, primary memory and secondary memory etc. If you are not well aware of these concepts then I will suggest going through our short tutorial on Computer Fundamentals.
