Explain why the surface of mortar and pestle (silbatta) used for grinding is etched again after prolonged use.
To make the surface of mortar and pestle rough again, they are etched as after prolonged use it losses its roughness and becomes very hard to grind anything. As a rough surface offer a larger force of friction than a smooth surface.
