# Why the scale is used for measurements?

**Reason for using the scale to measure :**

- The standard meter bar in Paris was used as the criterion against which all other rulers were determined to be one meter long.

- Therefore, all the scales(rulers) that are made are measured against a certain scale for the accuracy.
