Difference between Fixed VOIP and Non-Fixed VOIP
Voice data can be sent from one device to another using telephone devices or wireless mode. Voice communication works for all factors including long−distance, local areas, mobile devices, and international numbers. This technology is useful for normal customers and businesses as it provides other features like caller ID, voicemail, text messaging, team chats, and call recording that may not be available in all phone services. These voice and multimedia sessions can be communicated over an Internet connection using fixed or non−fixed methods.
Fixed VoIP
Fixed Voice over IP has a physical address and the number is assigned to the owner of the address. This option of assigning a physical address with a phone number for businesses or large organizations makes them secure as their contact information is private and shared only with legal customers.
Fixed VoIP services that are used by business groups are easily traceable and it offers more reliability as it cannot be accessed beyond the range or country. As it is linked to a physical address, if the customer cannot contact the company, then by dialing an emergency number, he/she will be connected to an emergency service center within the locality.
Advantages
It remains transparent for all the activities and locations are accessible to the customers which is a reliable factor for the growth of the company or business.
It provides security by encrypting the network where calls and messages are transmitted using advanced security protocols.
Availability of emergency services.
It offers additional features like video conferencing, cloud calling, tracking live location, etc.
Disadvantages
It works for customers or individual users within the country.
International calls for incoming and outgoing costs are higher.
Reaching business people is difficult when they are located far away.
Non Fixed VoIP
Non Fixed VoIP would not require a physical address. Users can make calls and send messages using a non−fixed Voice number with an area code of their preferred location without having an address or residence. This technology is used by individuals for their personal use and business professionals to communicate with their customers. Google Voice, Skype, Zoom, and WhatsApp are a few applications that use non−fixed VoIP technology for calls and multimedia communication.
Advantages
It is useful for business groups to locate the local presence of the customers without a physical office address.
Simple setup and configuration process, offers affordable or free of cost for international calls.
Identification can be known by the area code, which is a trustable factor by customers who receive calls.
It offers unlimited cloud calling options depending on the applications the user chooses.
Disadvantages
Confidential information shared over the network can be hacked by illegal users or hackers so security issues and reliability issues still exist.
Emergency contact number 911 is not reliable reach the phone number of VoIP users.
