1 - HM Amit Shah released book on Vice Prez M Venkaiah Naidu's two years in office

Home Minister Amit Shah released a book titled “Listening, Learning & Leading” chronicling the two years in office by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu in Chennai at a function organised by Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

The book captures the glimpses of the Vice President’s 330 public engagements across the country in the last two years. The book also showcases the Vice President’s feat as the Rajya Sabha Chairman in enhancing its effectiveness and promoting its efficiency.

2 - Book on legendry actress Sridevi launched ‘Girl Woman Superstar’

On the occasion of famous actress Sridevi's 56th birth anniversary, Penguin Random House India announced to publish a book on legendry actress Sridevi titled as 'Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar' written by author-screenwriter Satyarth Nayak. The book details the journey of Sridevi as an iconic actress who became the first female superstar in the male-dominated film industry.

Legendry actress Sridevi is termed as India's beloved screen goddess. She worked in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. She was recipient of National Film Award, the Nandi Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, the Kerala State Film Award and three Filmfare Awards.

3 - Prahlad Singh Patel launched the book ‘The Diary of Manu Gandhi’

Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, launched the book ‘The Diary of Manu Gandhi’ (1943-44) on the occasion of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in collaboration with Oxford University Press. The book has been brought out by National Archives of India. Manu Gandhi (Mridula) was grand niece of Mahatma Gandhi.

The book details record of her life, times with Mahatma Gandhi between 1943- 44 to establish the possibility of collective non-violence, and shares a moving portrait of Kasturba Gandhi’s illness and death.

4 - “Big Billion Startup: The Untold Flipkart Story” book will be launched in October

A book on untold story of Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, titled as “Big Billion Startup: The Untold Flipkart Story” will be launched in October. It is published by “Pan Macmillan India”. The book details on how IIT graduates Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal built Flipkart, India’s biggest e-commerce start-up into a multi-billion-dollar company. The story is authored by journalist Mihir Dalal.

Flipkart that started as an online book store was established in 2007 and soon became customer’s online obsession.

5 - Book on Indian classical music in Chinese language released in Beijing

An encyclopedia of Indian classical music in Chinese language was unveiled in Beijing, a first of its kind initiative. The book title is 'The Musical Culture of India' and traces back the origins of various Indian music forms. Noted Chinese musician and scholar Prof Chen Ziming authored the book.

Chen, 86, is a famous violinist and is associated with China Conservatory of Music, a leading institution for the study of traditional Chinese music and musical instruments, had spent decades in India studying Indian music.

6 - Book on former US President titled “Obama: The Call of History” released

A new book on former US President Barack Obama was relased. The book is titled “Obama: The Call of History” and has been written by Peter Baker, the Chief White House Correspondent for The New York Times.

This book will give an in-depth account of the former US President years in office while examining his legacy. The book tells the story of a young president who took on the worst financial disaster since the Great Depression. It features new details about the final months of the Obama presidency as Russia tried to intervene in American democracy.
