How to define jagged arrays in C#?
A Jagged array is an array of arrays. You can define a jagged array named points of type int as −
int [][] points;
Let us now see how to initialize it −
int[][] points = new int[][]{new int[]{10,5},new int[]{30,40}, new int[]{70,80},new int[]{ 60, 70 }};
Access the jagged array element as −
points[i][j]);
The following is the complete example showing how to work with jagged arrays in C# −
Example
using System; namespace Demo { class MyArray { static void Main(string[] args) { int[][] points = new int[][]{new int[]{10,5},new int[]{30,40}, new int[]{70,80},new int[]{60,70 }}; int i, j; for (i = 0; i < 3; i++) { for (j = 0; j < 2; j++) { Console.WriteLine("a[{0}][{1}] = {2}", i, j, points[i][j]); } } Console.ReadKey(); } } }
Output
a[0][0] = 10 a[0][1] = 5 a[1][0] = 30 a[1][1] = 40 a[2][0] = 70 a[2][1] = 80
