Which out of Ph.D. or qualifying NET exam is better for students pursuing Master’s degree in Literature?
First of all, it must be borne in mind that whatever step one takes in life-related to a course or degree, should be taken keeping in mind what does one need to achieve next or pursue next having this degree in hand. The same goes for all streams of education in India currently. Having said that, if I were to answer which out of Ph. D or NET exam in better to go with for Students pursuing masters in English Literature, again it varies from person to person.
When to Choose Ph.D. over NET
If you are a sort of person who wants to get a ‘Doctor’ Tag before your name, you know that is possible only when you pursue Ph.D., after having completed your masters in Literature. It does not matter at all if you have taken your NET exam or not in this case.
If you love reading books of various kinds so much so that you do not get bored getting into the depth of a subject or topic, Ph.D. is for you as it requires a lot of toil and labor to get through.
When to Choose NET Over Ph.D.
If you are not fascinated by Doctor tag but still want to be a lecturer, you must go for the NET exam as it gives you a lot of opportunities to apply to various colleges for a professor post.
If you do not wish to go into the depth of a topic, but love to read a lot and study a lot, NET is for you.
If you want to acquire a government job, Simply Ph.D. will not do good for you. You must prepare for NET side by side.
Which road to take depends upon the destination of your journey. There is no shortcut to success, but right guidance can help one achieve one’s aim.
