What Is Hydra?


Hydra is a fresh-water organism that belongs to the phylum Coelenterata and class Hydrozoa.

They are characterized as tube-shaped organisms with numerous tentacles present on one side of the tube.

Hydra is considered as cnidarians with a radial symmetrical body. Hydra lacks internal organs and developed central nervous system. It possesses special stinging cells, nematocytes, that helps in feeding.
