Creating a Scrollable List / Area in Excel

Here we will first insert a scroll bar and add the data to the described range of cells for the scroll. So let us see a simple process to know how you can create a scrollable list or area in a worksheet in Excel.

Step 1

Consider any Excel sheet. First, click on Developer, then on Insert, and select Form Controls Scroll Bar and draw it to the appropriate size.

Developer > Insert > Scroll bar > Draw.

Step 2

Then right−click on the scrollable bar, select format control, and make the below changes.

Right click > Format Control.

Step 3

First, click on Controls, then set the current value to 1, enter the maximum and minimum values in the list, set the incremental change, and finally select a cell to link to the scroll bar.

Controls > Current Value > Max and Min Value > Incremental Value > Cell Link > Ok.

Step 4

Then click on an empty cell and enter the formula as =OFFSET(A1,$I$2,0) and click enter. Then drag using the auto−fill handle to fill all the values. In the formula, A1 is the cell value, and $I$2 is the cell link value in the above step.

Empty Cell > Formula > Drag.
