How to Copy Cells Data with Row Height and Column Width in Excel?


Generally, in Excel, when we enter data of long length, adjusting the cell size is one of the more time-consuming processes as we need to manually adjust the cells. When we copy the cells to another location within the same sheet or to another sheet, if we need to adjust the cells every time, it can waste a lot of your time.

Copy Cells Data with Row Height and Column Width in Excel

Here, we will first copy the row height and then copy the column height to complete our task. Let's take a look at a simple procedure for copying cell data with row height and column width in Excel.

Step 1

Consider an Excel sheet with data that has a different row height and column width than the original width and height, as shown in the image below.

Now click to select the data, then use the command CTRL + C to copy the data, then click on an empty cell, click on paste, and select paste width as shown in the below image.

Step 2

We need to copy the height now. To copy the height, select the cell you want to copy the height from, then click on cells under home, click on format, and select row height to open the pop-up as shown in the below image.

Select cell > Home > Cells > Format > Row height

Step 3

Then click on the cell height, use the command CTRL + C to copy the height value, and click OK to close the pop-up window.

Cell height > CTRL + C > OK

Step 4

Then click on the cell where you want to copy the row height, then click on cells under home, click on format, and select row height to open the pop-up similar to the below image.

Select cell > Home > Cells > Format > Row height

Step 5

Then again, click on the row height, use the command CTRL + V to paste the values, and click OK to complete our task.

Cell height > CTRL + V > OK
