How to Auto-Fill Date or Only Weekdays Sequence in Excel?

To finish our task, we will select a range of cells, then open the format pop-up and select date. Let us see a simple process to auto-fill data sequences in Excel in a fast and efficient way.

Step 1

Consider an empty sheet and selecting the range you want to fill the date with and right clicking and selecting format cells, which will open a new pop-up, as shown in the image below.

Click on the date in the new pop-up window, then select the appropriate format and click "OK."

Step 2

Now enter the first date in the cell A1, then click on Enter. To get the list of dates, drag down from the first results, and our final output will be similar to the below image.

Here we will enter the date in the first cell, then use the auto-fill handle to get the list of dates. Let's take a look at a simple example of how to auto-fill only weekdays in Excel.

Step 1

Let us consider the same dates that we used in the above example. Only enter the first date as 11/08/2022 and drag to fill the list of dates as shown in the below image.

Step 2

Now click on the "Auto-fill" handle, then select "Fill weekdays" from the drop-down list as shown in the below image.

Then our final output will look similar to that shown in the below image.
