How to Auto Copy and Paste Cell in the Current Sheet or From One Sheet to Another in Excel?
Sometimes we want to use the same data that is already present in the Excel sheet. Instead of tying data again, we can copy it to other locations. When dealing with large amounts of data, or even small amounts of data, this could save us a lot of time. The copying can be done within the sheet or between the sheets that are present in the same workbook.
Read this tutorial to learn how you can autocopy and paste cells in the current sheet or from one sheet to another sheet in Excel.
AutoCopy and Paste Cell in the Current Sheet
Here we will enter the cell address of a single cell and use the auto-fill handle to copy all the data. Let us see a simple process to automatically copy and paste cells in the current sheet in Excel in a faster and more efficient way.
Step 1
Consider an excel sheet containing data similar to the data shown in the image below.
Now click on an empty cell, in our case D1, and enter the formula "=A1" in the formula box, then click on Enter to copy the text of cell A1 into it as shown in the below image.
Step 2
As we can see, we have copied text from A1 to D1. We can also copy all the other data by dragging from the right corner, and the final output will be similar to the below image.
AutoCopy and Paste Cell from One Sheet to Another
Here we will enter the cell address along with the sheet name to copy the data. Let us see a simple process to automatically copy cells from one sheet to another in Excel.
Step 1
Let us consider the same data that we used in the above example.
Now, in the other sheet's cell A1, enter the formula "=Sheet1!A1" and press Enter to get the first result, as shown in the image below.
Step 2
As we can see, we have copied text from A1 to D1 of the new sheet. We can also copy all the other data by dragging from the right corner, and the final output will be similar to the below image.
Conclusion
In this tutorial, we used a simple example to demonstrate how we can auto-copy and paste cells in the current sheet or from one sheet to another in Excel to highlight a particular set of data.
