Step 1

Let us consider a Google Sheet where the data in the sheet is similar to the data shown in the below image.

Now, in our case, click on the empty cell C2 and enter the formula −

=DATE(YEAR(A2)+B2,MONTH(A2),DAY(A2)) and press Enter to get the first result. In the formula, A2 is the date's address, and B2 is the number of years to be added.

Step 2

Now drag from the first result using the autofill handle, and our final result will be similar to the below image.

Adding Number of Months to a Date

To complete our task, we will first obtain a value using the EDATE formula, then convert it to date. Let's look at a simple procedure for adding the number of months to a date in a Google Sheet.

Step 1

Consider the same data as in the previous example and click on the empty cell, enter the formula =EDATE(A2,B2), and press enter to get the first result.

Then, from the first result, drag to get all the others. By selecting the values, clicking on the number, and then selecting a short date, we can convert them to dates.
